United States: Israel continued merciless operations in Rafah after the ICJ ordered it to cease operations, many people were killed in the central and northern Gaza Strip, which has also recently been targeted in renewed attacks.
Areas close to Kuwaiti hospital and specifically the Shaboura camp came under attack on Saturday the al Jazeera Hani Mahmood, in Deir el-Balah said.
Many people have been injured in the bombardment and most of them have been taken to the hospital, he added.
After the attack, the hospital urged for renewed delivery of fuel “to ensure its continued operation” as according to the report it is the only remaining one in Rafah governorate still receiving patients, as Aljazeera reported.
More about the ICJ ruling
This was the third ruling of its kind this year, which required the ICJ to order Israel to cease its aggressive stance due to the “enormous risk” to about 1.4 million Palestinians living in Rafah, which is located in the extreme southern end of the Gaza strip.
Rafah alone has 800,000 Palestinians fleeing since the current Israeli onslaught started on the 7th of May.
UN’s highest appeals for international justice aim at putting a halt to the rising deaths of Palestinians decided in October while doing away with a persisting humanitarian crisis in the form of internal displacement and resultant malnutrition which affects the major part of Gaza affecting 2.3 million people.
About 36000 Palestinians died and an incredibly large portion of Gaza has been destroyed due to the bombings by the Israelis, as Aljazeera reported.
Israel’s stance on the ICJ order
Israel has given no apparent response that it would change its course of action for its ongoing war, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticizing the ICJ ruling. He also called the charges of genocide brought by South Africa “false, outrageous, and morally repugnant”.
Israeli attack on Northern Gaza
A school, which was being used by displaced persons in the Gaza area, as-Saftawi neighborhood in the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern area of Gaza was shelled by Israel, which killed many people, Al Jazeera journalists reported after counting with medical officials.
The Palestinian news agency, Wafa, states that at least 10 people were killed with 17 others wounded in several assaults on the neighborhood which is situated just to the south of Jabalia.
Israeli forces have intensified their bombing campaign against the Jabalia camp, with people forced to flee anew in spite of being displaced already on Saturday.
Israeli aircraft also targeted a house in another northern Gaza city of Beit Hanoon; ten people, some of them women and Children, were killed, Wafa reported.
In another incident in Gaza City, an Israeli airstrike on a residential building in the Sabra neighborhood killed a woman and affected other citizens as well. Wafa said there were casualties following an Israeli air attack that targeted a building in the Daraj neighborhood without giving the number of people killed.
Other parts of Gaza City including Sheikh Ajlin, Tal al-Hawa, and Zeitoun were also bombarded by heavy artilleries, Wafa also noted but no more information was provided on the effects or otherwise of the attacks and the number of persons killed.
